Camping and Food

The venue for the Serpent Trail Races is in Petersfield, at the Rugby club (PRFC).  The address is Penns Place, Petersfield, Hampshire, GU31 4EP.

Camping is just £10 per pitch, per night and is for tents OR camper vans/motorhomes. This can be booked when you enter the race, or subsequently by editing your entry on the Si Entry system.

There is camping available at the race venue on the Friday and Saturday nights, with the venue opening at 5pm on Friday and the closing at midday on Sunday.

Friday evening has our FREE kids participation race (not timed) of circa 1km taking place at 7pm - this is open for all. Kids under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Camping is on the Rugby pitches next to the main clubhouse and has 24hr access to the changing and toilet facilities. Depending on ground conditions you should be able to park your car on grass next to your tent for ease of set up and storage over the weekend.  Campervans can park on the grass in good weather or hardstanding if not appropriate.

Petersfield Rugby Club is a busy local club, as such it has a well equipped and spacious clubhouse and grounds.  There are up to 6 changing rooms, accessed from the main entrance, finish line and campsite side of the building.  These are open all night long, so you can shower and use the facilities all the time.

Food

The catering will be outside at the event venue area, with food being served on Friday night, breakfast options on Saturday & Sunday mornings (from 4.30am on Saturday for 100k runners!) and from lunchtime until late on Saturday night (again, there should be food available for the last finishers!).

There will be some staples on the barbecue such as decent burgers but also some nice fresh salads, jacket potatoes, wraps, chili, vegan options, veggie stuff etc etc - it should be plenty of choice for everyone!

There are also other outside caterers coming to the event, such as coffee vendors and other food such as pizza etc.

Plastic & Recycling at the Serpent Trail

Venue;

The catering vendors on site at the venue serve all their food and drinks in recyclable / compostable containers. The Rugby club have a no glass policy of drinks on the pitches and have re-usable plastic tumblers and pint glasses as part of their standard practise.

Course;

One of the biggest areas of waste at races is the individual cups for participants use in checkpoints & water stations - for a few years we have not had ANY cups at the checkpoints - participants need to have their own folding cup or water bottles. This has been commonplace for a few years in Ultra distance races (including the Serpent 100k and 50k races) but we have increased it to every race distance.

The Serpent Trail will NOT have cups available to participants in the checkpoints.  Obtain a re-usable cup OR use the water bottles you are carrying for your general hydration needs (as per the kit list) will be needed for drinks at the checkpoints.

We strongly recommend carrying something like this with you to use in checkpoints;

£3.95 - Re-usable - SUPER LIGHT FOLDING CUP!!!
