One of the most beautiful Trails in the UK.

Come and run through habitats rarer than rainforest on this special journey through the greensand hills, lowland heath, woodland and river meanders of Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire!  The Serpent Trail is a beautiful long distance route within the South Downs National Park, from Haslemere to Petersfield.

The Serpent Trail Races have raised over £8000 for Havant & East Hants MIND charity! Let’s keep raising funds to go towards their great work helping people!

Each race has coach transport included - from the Venue / Finish to the respective start of the race!

The 100k Ultra race is the full length of the Serpent Trail and has been designed to allow participants to be as fast and light as possible (see kit list HERE).  Starting just off a Surrey high street, within a mile the trail enters woodland and then ascends to the highest point in the South Downs National Park, snaking through glades, copse, fields and heathland as it rises and falls through the Wealden Greensand Hills. Our newest distance - the 75k is a great distance to bridge the gap between the 100k and 50k!

The 50k is a a stunning Trail Ultra that starts from near Petworth, the mid-point of the Serpent Trail and along with the 20k and 10k races is along the southern section of the trail to Petersfield.  The second half of the Serpent Trail has smaller hills and lower level sandy trails and paths with sections of road linking them up, so this friendly running event is completely suitable and inclusive for walkers as well as runners!

There is camping available at the venue for the weekend and excellent access and travel connections from major motorways, trunk roads and mainline rail to Petersfield on the London Waterloo / Portsmouth service to the race venue.

We are proud to have Havant & East Hants MIND as our official charity. Mental health has affected everyone either directly or indirectly so we are pleased to be able to help raise awareness and funds to help them do their great work in supporting those in need through the event. There is the option to give the charity a donation at time of entry and we information about fundraising for them through sponsorship HERE.

Please see our Environment pages for info about ways we try to help the local area of the Trail and wider issues. To help with any queries we have a Frequently Asked Questions page too!
